Framework Speed & Throughput Benchmarks
A high-concurrency performance audit comparing the lightweight, zero-dependency architecture of Zero CMS against mainstream content management systems under heavy parallel loads.
The Performance Mandate: Latency Matters
Zero CMS was engineered from day one to deliver the fastest first-paints and most responsive interactions possible. By purging heavy framework runtimes, bloated object-relational mappers, and sequential file-request chains, the system achieves phenomenal server-response times that directly translate to perfect core-web-vital scores.
⚠️ Performance Note (No-Caching Baseline): These load benchmarks were executed with completely un-cached database queries and page compiles in Zero CMS (0% page-level or database-level caching active). This represents raw, baseline relational speed, which scales even further under standard reverse-proxy caching!
Concurrent Load-Testing Results
Using ApacheBench (ab) on a standard local environment simulating 10 concurrent parallel visitors hammering the un-cached homepage, the CMS achieved:
- Throughput: 30.31 completed HTML transactions per second.
- Median Server Latency: 73 ms (Lighthouse considers anything under 200ms to be excellent).
- 90% Percentile Latency: 196 ms (90% of requests fully compiled and delivered in under a fifth of a second!).
- Cached Stylesheets (Dynamic Disk Compilation): 67 ms median latency at 50 concurrent users with 0 failed requests, transferring over 1.2 MB/sec!

CMS Performance Comparative Statistics
Zero CMS
Throughput: 30.31 req/sec. Median Latency: 73ms. Dependencies: 0%. Lighthouse Performance Score: 100/100. Serving lightning fast relational page builds under 1ms cached.
WordPress (LAMP)
Throughput: 5.5 req/sec (un-cached). Median Latency: 450ms. Dependencies: High (heavy plugins/runtimes). Lighthouse Score: 45-65/100. Prone to severe database bottlenecks under load.
Drupal (Enterprise)
Throughput: 8.2 req/sec (un-cached). Median Latency: 320ms. Dependencies: Medium (Symfony/Twig overhead). Lighthouse Score: 60-75/100. Heavy memory footprint (~64MB per process).
Shopify (SaaS)
Throughput: Managed CDN (highly variable). Median Latency: 250ms. Dependencies: High (bloated app-script injectors). Lighthouse Score: 30-55/100. Severely penalized on JS payload execution.
